History
The name is “Federated” because in 1929 three churches came together to form one church while keeping their particular denominational beliefs. The three denominations are United Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, and Presbyterian. At First Federated Church you will also meet people with no denominational ties with a wide range of beliefs. Former Catholics, Baptists, Methodists, Lutherans - even agnostics - are just a few of the varied backgrounds people bring. Out of these many beliefs we form one church.
We have a history of community activism. From operating a food pantry to welcoming refugees to advocating for social justice as an Open & Affirming church, First Federated Church strives to live the love of Jesus.
